LEGENDARY singer-songwriter Roger Hodgson is to return to where his musical journey started and play a one-off concert at Stowe School this summer.
Mr Hodgson, more commonly associated with band Supertramp, attended Stowe in his teens and on Friday, June 27, 40 years since he left, will treat guests to classics like Give a Little Bit and The Logical Song.
Despite international fame and multi-million selling albums, Mr Hodgson remembers where his musical tuition began.
He said: "The five years I had at Stowe had a profound impact on me. I gave numerous concerts while at school and it feels like coming back full circle.
"So many of my musical dreams began during my time at Stowe, many of which came true."
Hodgson left Supertramp in 1983 and went on to release two solo albums. However, in 1987, he took an absence from music after a bad fall, which shattered both wrists. After the release of a live record in 1997, he returned in 2000 with his first studio album in over a decade. In the past few years he has started touring again, including a performance at the Concert for Diana last summer.
Andrew Chance, a member of the Old Stoics past-pupils' association, said: "I am delighted Roger has agreed to perform in concert at Stowe. In his final year at the school, I had the privilege of playing drums in a concert for him.
"We invite everyone who was inspired by Supertramp to be part of this remarkable evening."
