BICESTER and North Oxford I recorded a convincing victory at Great & Little Tew on Saturday (19/07) to lift themselves to second place in the Cherwell League Division One.
BNOCC batted first in overcast conditions, with 3 overs per side having been lost to the weather. After the loss of Shiv Talsania in the second over, Bicester's innings was built around a magnificent 123 from Duncan Bradshaw.

After surviving several early scares, Bradshaw batted remarkably fluently on an awkward pitch, punishing anything loose and scoring at over a run a ball.

Bradshaw shared in a second wicket partnership of 193 with Darryl Woods (61) and although spinner Kevin Taylor (4-41) managed to slow the scoring rate, Bicester were able to post their highest score of the season to date, 240-7.

Although Tew began their reply positively, they had no answer to Steve West. West bowled with accuracy and movement, claiming 5-36 in his 13 overs. Aided by some excellent ground fielding and an outstanding slip catch by Graham Savin that rolled back the years, Tew were never really in contention. Despite a fine 54 from Lloyd Brock they succumbed to 167 all out.
