TOWCESTRIANS 1st XI earned their first victory of the season last Saturday thanks to a good bowling and fielding performance against Brigstock.
Andrew Key, 35-5, and Steve Edwards, 9-5, both took five wickets apiece for the hosts as Brigstock were all out for 62.

In reply Tows made relatively light work of the modest total with Alan Edwards hitting a stubborn 21 not out and Ben Laycock 2
2 as Tows finished on 63-3. Trevor Erskine took all three wickets for Brigstock.

Tows II suffered their second failure with the bat in as many weeks as they collapsed from 60-2 to 101 all out away at Bugbrooke St Michaels on Saturday.

Skipper Andy Roberts made the only sizeable contribution with 41.
Tows then battled well in the field making the small target a tricky one for the hosts to chase. Sean Duffy grabbed five wickets for 41, while the pace of Henry Drage claimed 3-32. St Michaels eventually reached their target with two wickets to spare.

Tows Sunday XI got their season back on track this week with a convincing seven-wicket victory over Syresham.

Tows bowled first and struck early with wickets from Sean Duffy, 4-32, and Alex Desborough, 2-11.

Syresham battled hard and made it tough for Tows before Steve Emerson, 2-25, and the return of Duffy eventually restricted Syresham to all out for 119.

In reply, Tows got off to a shaky start losing two early wickets with some tight bowling from the hosts, but some power hitting from Nick Howard, 52, and captain Henry Drage, 40 not out, allowed Tows to cruise to victory with 21 overs to spare.
