BACK from Beijing, British number one fencer Richard Kruse was at Touché Fencing Club in Towcester last Sunday to coach the East Midland Cadet squad.
Kruse made the last 16 in the foil competition at the Olympics.

One of the fencers present was rising star Kate Cholerton, who lives in Buckingham. She recently won the Northants Ladies Championship.

East Midlands Cadet Squad head coach and former Great Britain under-20 fencer, Baldip Sahota, said: "We are delighted with Kate's success, which is a tribute to her hard work and dedication. She is one of a number of young fencers who will benefit from Richard's attendance."

Coach Hilary Sahota, former top British Polytechnics Ladies fencer, added: "Having Richard here has been a great incentive for our young fencers and will help promote a new level of interest in our club."

Touché Fencing Club runs regular beginners courses and meets at Towcester Leisure Centre every Wednesday, from 6.30pm until 10pm.
