Bicester Town have been boosted by the signing of central defender and former Hook Norton player Ben Elkington.
Elkington, an ex-England Schools captain, joined the club this week to strengthen up the defence.

The Hellenic League Premier Division side start their league campaign next Tuesday (12/08) at home against Shrivenham, kick-off 7.45pm.

Bicester enjoyed a 2-1 win over Worcester College & Bletchingdon on Tuesday, where Ben Williams was one of the scorers.

Other pre-season games saw a 3-1 win over a London side, a 2-0 success against Winslow United and a 4-2 defeat by Oxford City.

Fellow Premiership outfit Ardley United, with new boss Kevin Brock at the helm, travel to Hungerford Town also on Tuesday, kick-off 7.45pm, as their league season gets underway.

Division One East side Launton Sports are in action at Penn and Tylers Green on the same night, also 7.45pm.

In a pre-season friendly Launton drew 2-2 with Witney United. Two goals from striker Damon Chandler was not enough to win this entertaining game.
Ian Hetherington stepped in for injured keeper Danny Clifford after 20 minutes and produced a man-of- the-match performance, only to be beaten by two spectacular goals.

Launton collected their first silverware of the season when they beat the hosts 3-2 in the final of the Hook Norton six-a-side tournament. Matt Jenkins, Aaron Davies and Christian Jones netted.
