IN-FORM Buckingham Town go into Saturday's FA Vase third round qualifying game against Malmesbury Victoria at Ford Meadow with confidence, having won six of their last seven matches.
They ran out comfortable 2-0 winners at Olney Town last Saturday to climb to fourth in the UCL Division One, a point behind leaders Peterborough North Star.

Joel McCormick scored with a solo effort after two minutes and Jon Mills fired home early
in the second half from a Giuseppe Lagioia cross to seal victory. Robins' boss Tony Joyce said afterwards: "It was a good away performance and Buckingham were never really under any pressure.

"We are on a fine mini-run of wins at the moment, with just one defeat, and I'm hopeful we can carry on the good work against Malmesbury."

If there is a replay from Saturday's game, it will take place on Tuesday. Buckingham will play Huntingdon Town in the league at home the following Saturday, October 11, kick-off 3pm.

  • Buckingham Town Youth were narrowly beaten 2-1 at home to Bedford on Tuesday. After a goalless first period Kyle Stimpson opened the scoring for Town with a well-struck shot from the six-yard line. But Bedford hit back on the counter attack twice to win the game. Youth travel to Slough and Eton for the second qualifying round of the FA Youth Cup on Wednesday, October 8.
