BRACKLEY Town grabbed a 2-2 draw against League One side Peterborough United at St James Park on Wednesday (30/07) to remain unbeaten in pre-season friendlies.
Southern League Premier Division outfit Saints were given a stern test by the visitors, who took the lead after eight minutes. Brackley bounced back with a goal by David Stone in the 41st minute.

Shortly after the break Posh made it 2-1, but Brackley never gave up, with winger Tom Winters and striker Ben Mackey always dangerous. In the 84th minute Winters fed Justin Marsden, who slotted home from close range for 2-2. Substitute Danny Spencer glanced a header wide late on.

With the start of the new season just over two weeks' away, Brackley have three more friendly matches, all away from home. They travel to Abingdon United on Saturday (02/08), kick-off 2pm, followed by Woodford United on Tuesday (05/08), 7.30pm and Leighton Town the following Saturday, (09/08), 3pm.

  • A family open day at Brackley last Saturday (26/07) proved a great success, with the first team squad giving of their time to run many of the activities. A sponsored football 'keepy up' event raised £500 for club funds.
