Buckingham Town ran out comfortable 2-0 home winners over Malmesbury Victoria in the first round of the FA Vase on Saturday.
Captain Danny Hart put the hosts ahead with a fine solo effort after 15 minutes and Keith Williams sealed victory midway through the second half with a goal from the penalty spot after striker Joel McCormick was fouled by Malmesbury keeper Martin Woodhouse. Woodhouse was sent off and the Wiltshire side reduced to 10 men.

Brackley Town suffered a shock 3-0 reverse at home to Swindon Supermarine in the BGB Southern League Premier Division. Swindon led 1-0 in the first period through a 42nd minute strike from Draycott, who increased his tally to two goals after the break, with Griffin hitting an 85th minute winner.

Ardley United moved upto fifth place in the Hellenic League Premier Division with a fine 2-0 success at Fairford Town. But at the other end of the table there was disappointment for Bicester Town, who were beaten 3-1 at Shrivenham.

Division One East side Launton Sports grabbed their first victory of the campaign with a 4-1 home success over Winterbourne United in the SBJ Insurance Brokers Challenge Cup preliminary round. Lisseter, Luckett, Neal and Tattersall were their scorers.

South Midlands Division One side Buckingham Athletic also enjoyed an overdue first win with a 2-1 home victory over Newport Pagnell Town Reserves in the first round of the Berks & Bucks FA Intermediate Cup, while Division Two side Mursley United hammered Bletchley Town 9-2 in the cup. North Bucks league side Steeple Claydon were 2-0 winners over Aston Clinton.
