BICESTER gymnast Susan Blunsden beat injury to win her second consecutive national veterans title at Ipswich.
Blunsden, a member of Bicester and District Gymnastics Club, gained the gold medal in the Recreational Women's Artistic over-30s category.

Before the event she had damaged cartilages in her ribcage while trampolining and wasn't sure whether she would be fit to compete.

But supported by coaches Dawn Cole and Glenn Glamotis, she took to the floor and showed her skills.

She performed respectably in the vault and asymmetric bars, but was superb on the balance beam to clinch the gold medal. Young gymnasts from the Bicester club were among those watching and gave her a big round of applause.

Her younger sister, Carrie-Ann, also competed in the over-30s age group and performed well, but failed to make the podium.

However, she gained a silver medal in the trampolining event for her set and compulsory routines.
