SILVERSTONE is set to host its final Grand Prix this Sunday when a capacity crowd of over 100,000 will descend on the local track to watch the eighth round of the 2009 F1 world championship, write Colin and James Beckett.
Having won six of the opening seven Grands Prix this year, Jenson Button and the Brackley-based Brawn GP team will be hoping his superb form continues this weekend as the world championship leader aims to win his home Grand Prix - just as Lewis Hamilton did last year.

Button will be cheered on by thousands of flag-waving fans, and the Brawn GP driver is keen for his superb run of form to continue.
"I love winning Grand Prix races," Button said. "Winning at Monaco was a dream come true for me and now my wish is to win at Silverstone."

He added: "For any driver, winning a home Grand Prix is a memorable occasion and I will be doing my best to achieve that for all the British fans at Silverstone."

Silverstone is set for an emotional weekend as the local track will host its final Grand Prix - with the race due to switch to Donington Park next year.

Having hosted its first race in 1948 and the very first round of the FIA F1 World Championship in 1950, Silverstone will play proud host to a patriotic red, white and blue display throughout the weekend - with British drivers, Button and reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton cheered on in Sunday's big race that will start at 1pm.
