TOWCESTER driver Neil Cunningham is due to contest three races at this weekend's Silverstone Classic race meeting.
The three-day Silverstone Classic, Britain's leading historic race meeting, will see thousands of racing enthusiasts descending on the circuit.

It kicks off on Friday, July 25, with race qualifying starting at 9am. Racing continues throughout Saturday and Sunday.

Cunningham will once more drive the Ford Mustang with which he triumphed at the Historic Saloon support race at the recent British Grand Prix, in addition to two drives in iconic sportsracing cars of the 1950s.

Cunningham will be supported at Silverstone this weekend by Buckingham Ford, and will carry the new car dealership's colours on his crash helmet.

He will drive a 1956 Jaguar D-Type in the Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy, with its owner, Ben Eastick. Opposition, headed by fellow local racers, Gary Pearson and Barrie Williams, will be tough.
In the BRDC Historic Sportscars, Cunningham will drive a Lister-Chevrolet with Jamie McIntyre, in a car prepared by Buckingham's Mark Lewis Engineering.

Cunningham's Ford Mustang, owned by Bob Pepper of Royal Purple Oils, has been elevated from race reserve to a competitor for the Jack Sears Trophy for Top Hat Saloons.
