CHRIS Dymond is hopeful of a strong showing in the penultimate round of the FIA GT3 European Cup when he takes part in the event at the French circuit of Nogaro at the wheel of a Buckingham-based Apex Motorsport Jaguar XKR this weekend.
Two rounds of the series will take place at the track, located in the south of France, and the Apex Motorsport team are aiming for a strong showing as their first full season of competition with the V8-powered car nears its end.
Akeley's Dymond m
ade his debut for the Apex team at Brno in the Czech Republic and impressed with his performance behind the wheel of the V8-powered machine. As a result he travels to France for this weekend's two rounds of the FIA GT3 European Championship.
Dymond, a competitor in the Elf Renault Clio UK Cup last year, switched his attention to GT cars at the start of this season, driving the opening rounds of FIA GT3 series at the wheel of an Alan Docking Racing-prepared Ascari. The opportunity came for Dymond to switch to the Apex Motorsport team, which he did, and with aspirations of becoming a Le Mans driver, Dymond's performances behind the wheel of the Jaguar have been impressive to say the least. Expected to join Dymond in the Apex Motorsport team this weekend are Blakesley's Ben Clucas and UK-based American Robert Hissom. The fourth driver has not been confirmed, but is expected to be regular Apex frontman, Phil Quaife.
