HAVE you got the running bug? If so, newly-formed Brackley & District Running Club would like to hear from you.
The club, formed in April, is the brainchild of runners Andy Howe (chairman), Wilf Fox (secretary), Darren Long (social secretary), who were later joined by Graham Cripps (race secretary), Joe Montague (press & promotions) and Cherie Caruthers (treasurer).
Many already have achievements such as London, New York and Berlin Marathons under their belts.
The club caters for all ages and abilities and has more than 30 members, with further recruits in the pipeline.
Club member Jane Wood said: "The aim of the club is to provide a local community of runners, to whom the established runners can offer expertise and support.
"The club has three training sessions a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday), that leave from Brackley leisure centre.
"With training tips, advice and motivational support from other members, it's a perfect way to get running and fit.
"Club nights are especially good for lady runners who don't like to run on their own.
"All running abilities are catered for. As long as you are of a basic fitness standard then come along and start running."
Absolute beginners will also get their chance to meet the team on Saturday, July 19, when the club will have a promotional stand.
Jane Wood added: "Once you've got the bug, then you might like to try your luck at competing with Brackley road runners in a local race or just come along and cheer on your fellow team members."
