Rugby: Buckingham cruise home against Tows

Buckingham 1st XV beat Towcester 40-17 in a pre-season friendly last weekend at Maids Moreton.
Buckingham took an early lead with a Henry Colver penalty, followed soon after with a debut try from new player Mark Chase, Colver making the conversion.

Another break by Colver saw Cliff score in the corner and after a long run by Thompson, Colver scored himself and converted his
own try.

Further tries were added by Jackson and Cliff with Colver adding a conversion and a penalty to make it 37-0 at half time.

Tows re-organised after the break, using their forwards to good effect.They scored three tries and one conversion to a Buckingham Colver penalty.

The Kirk Nokes Memorial game will take place this Saturday, September 6th at Buckingham Rugby Club, starting at 3pm.

It is intended to run as an annual event and will be played by the previous season's Colts and the third XV. The game will be played against Bicester and the winners will receive the Golden Ball Trophy.
