TOWCESTER Ladies were on amazing form in their second Midlands League game at Byfield, where batters Katie Taylor and Hannah Edwards shared in a record-breaking stand of 269.
Edwards blasted 155 and Taylor 83 as Tows amassed 294 runs in 40 overs for a winning draw.

As well as being a new individual record for the ladies, the total fell just short of the highest ever Towcestrians men's score and the third highest ever in the Ladies Midlands League.

In reply, Byfield defended well against the opening attack of Jenny Williams and Emma Cummins, but it was the Tows spinners who took the first wickets, Katie Taylor grabbing 2-5 and Becky English 1-9.

Williams came back on to take 2-3, but Tows couldn't bowl out Byfield as they finished on 49-6 in 40 overs.

Tows Ladies saw off Brackley by five wickets last Saturday, Jenny Williams notching 5-11 as Brackley were skittled out for 72. Tows made 76-5.
