MIDWEEK signing Christopher Wreh made an immediate impact for Buckingham Town last Saturday.
The former Arsenal and Monaco striker, perhaps the only FA Cup medal winner playing in the Extra Preliminary Round, scored one goal and made two of the others as the Robins deservedly reached the Preliminary Round with a 4-2 win over Ryman Division Three Kingsbury Town.
The early exchanges showed a difference in quality on the day between the two teams and only some disappointing finishing prevented the contest being over in the first 20 minutes.
Wreh burst through in the eighth minute, but got the ball tied up under his feet and the keeper managed to make a save.
However, he more than made up for it 10 minutes later when he beat the offside trap to run half the length of the pitch to slot past the keeper.
He then turned provider for the mercurial Ruben Max-Grant who made no mistake with a low shot into the bottom left-hand corner.
However, on the stroke of half-time, the Robins conceded a simple goal.
But on the resumption they looked to kill the game off and increased their lead from a Jermaine Daley corner which was headed in by James Patterson.
That should have been it, but keeper Sean Griffiths gifted Kingsbury a second goal when he dropped a cross into the path of a gleeful forward.
But Wreh had the final word. Taking a short pass from Jason Blackett, he spun his marker with a piece of pure magic before his pinpoint pass found Kieron Carey who volleyed in.
"Not a game for the purist," said manager Morell Maison.
"But we have players back for the trip to Harlow and we will be better than today when the result was more important than the performance.
"I am happy to be through to the next round.
"Chris Wreh's contribution was very valuable and his experience is going to be of great value to some of our young players."

They play Harlow away in the Preliminary Round tomorrow, Saturday. A supporters'/players' coach will leave Ford Meadow at 10.30am and will call at Luton and Milton Keynes. The cost is £10 per person
