They were far too strong in every department as they swept aside a depleted Culworth team. After winning the toss skipper Rob Cartwright elected to bowl and Culworth collapsed to 28 all out as the wickets were spread around the bowlers, with Cartwrig
ht, Jamie Fowler, Ollie Goddard and Josh Markham all bowling accurately.
In reply Brackley got home easily despite some spirited Culworth bowling.
This ended the season for the talented under-15 side, who lost only one game in the league and ended up winning both the cup and the league trophies in the South Northants League.
The under-15s will move up to under-17 next season and with a majority of the side playing in the first or second teams the future looks bright for the cricket club.
Skipper Rob Cartwright was complimentary about all his players, saying: "It was a real team effort this season with everybody adding value at some stage during the season. The team performed well when they needed to and a special mention for all the younger players that helped out during the season. Our bowling was superb and having an array of pace, swing and spin that I could call on was always a bonus."
Westbury under-12s won the Northampton Shires League by convincingly beating a Wellingborough side, who were undefeated until this game.Westbury batted first and although they didn't make a great start their later batsmen all contributed to a total of 98-5. This total always looked too many for Wellingborough and the Westbury bowling and fielding was of the highest standard. Wellingborough only managed a total of 44 runs for 12 wickets in the pairs game.
Man of the match was George Jackman with 23 runs and five wickets. The winning team comprised: Daniel Firoozan, James Marchant, Jack Wilkins, Giles White, Edward Farrow, Edward Selby-Lowndes, George Jackman, William Gurney, Thomas Young.
