TOWCESTER under-11s Whites are celebrating promotion to the top league next season.
The TJFC team battled hard over the 18 games of the season and their triumphant record over recent games secured them a promotion place.

Coach Mark Newlyn said: "It's an unbelievable achievement to have gained promotion in our first season at 11-a-side as well as reaching the NTFA Cup semi-final, in which we just lost out by a single goal.

"At the start of the season we would have settled to finish mid-table. All the credit goes to the boys who put in the hard work in training and reaped the rewards on the pitch, only losing three league games all season.

"I know next season it's going to be much harder, but we are all up for the challenge. We are all proud of the youngsters."

The team is grateful for support from their sponsors Watsons Premier, Waitrose and InSpace, and not forgetting all the families and friends who have committed to transporting, supporting and refreshing the team through all the ups and downs.

Local boys aged 11 from September 1 onwards are invited to trial for next season's under-12s team and help succeed in the top league. The boys will need to demonstrate a flair for football and a commitment to the team.

The date for the trials is Saturday, June 14 at 10am at the Towcester recreation ground, Islington Road. Contact coach Mark Newlyn on 07999 521648 for more information.
