Safety barriers have been placed in front of the damaged glass, and building contractors boarded up the affected frames on Tuesday afternoon.

The council’s reception area is working normally, and replacement glass will be ordered for delivery and installation next week.

Yosef Brent, 30, of no fixed abode, was arrested and charged with one count of criminal damage.

He will appear at Magistrates tomorrow.
