PEOPLE causing trouble in Chandos Park will have to start looking over their shoulders after a new CCTV camera was installed on Thursday last week.

In a bid to reduce anti-social behaviour, Buckingham Town Council is trialling a redeployable security camera.

It has employed Leighton Buzzard based firm Crimewave Solutions to provide the camera, which costs more than £5,000.

Justin Hammond, managing director, said: “It is a very innovative camera. This camera sends the signal via 3G which is from a mobile phone sim card.

“It is redeployable which means you can take it off the lampost and put it on another. Once the problem has been dispersed in Chandos Park, the camera can be moved somewhere else.”

He added footage from the camera could be accessed by both the police and the council as required.

Crimewave solutions is run by former police officers Justin Hammond and Charlie Taylor.

It has provided security devices for large companies as well as local authorities.

Last month, the town council’s environment and property committee agreed to a six week trial.
