See Milton Keynes through new eyes, thanks to an artist whose vibrant images celebrate the often-maligned city.

Tingewick-based Cathy Read is launching a book of her striking images at an art fair in thecentre:mk this weekend.

Ms Read was commissioned to undertake The Milton Keynes Project in January 2012, after talking to a representative of the arts festival Fringe MK.

Planned as a series of 20 paintings inspired by the new city, the aim was to reflect the life of the dynamic place and show its cultured side.

Nearly three years later, the book is finally going on sale at the Love Art Fair from Friday to Sunday in Middleton Hall.

The book contains all 20 images plus reference photographs used by the artist, work-in-progress shots, a breakdown of the artistic process used to create the pieces and a biography.

Books retail at £19.95 hardback and £14.95 paperback, but visitors to the Love Art Fair can buy signed copies at a £5 discount.
