Claydon Badgers, based in Steeple Claydon, were winners of the South East regional heats of a national first aid competition run by St John Ambulance.

The First Aid Challenge, held in Guildford, Surrey, last month, is designed to help the charity’s young volunteers maintain their first aid skills.

Working as a team, Cyprus Cowell and Joshua Stigar, age nine, had to treat a friend who was struggling to breathe, then take part in individual first aid activities, such as spotting the dangers when assessing a casualty, and identification of conditions.
