Budding artists from the Bicester area can win free exhibition space as part of a new competition.

Students are invited to take advantage of the competition hosted by Bicester’s branch of Hobbycraft.

One lucky winner will get free exhibition space for a year as well as art materials worth £60.

The ‘Kick-stART’ art competition aims to help support local creative talents, with each regional winner being entered into a national competition with more than £1,000 worth of art supplies up for grabs.

To enter, students must submit their own masterpiece.

Drawings, paintings, sketches and sculptures are all welcome.

Entries must be no bigger than 50cm high by 30cm wide.

All entries must be submitted to the Bicester Avenue store by Friday, November 16. Members of the public will then vote for their favourite piece.

Manager Cristal Sawyer said: “We understand how challenging it can be for art students to find exhibition space and showcase their talents.”

She added: “Offering our store’s space for the winner to exhibit their work is a fantastic opportunity for the winning artist to showcase their talent, while inspiring all our other customers to get creative by taking up an art form of their choice.”

Entry forms and details are available from the store in Bicester Avenue Home & Garden Centre in Oxford Road.
