Have your say

It does not seem possible that I am half way through my year as your mayor.

I have enjoyed these six months, meeting so many of you, and being made to feel so welcome.

I have especially enjoyed my visits to the primary schools. I am so glad I decided to have children switch on the Christmas lights with me. They were so excited about it and their joy on the night was clear for all to see.

I changed the format of the Santa Run this year and on December 4 we had 98 Santas running through Bicester.

Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the bacon butty after their run. My thanks to the Twinning Association for their help with the refreshments.

2012 will be an exciting year for Bicester. In April we will be having a welcome home regimental march past for the 23rd Pioneer Regiment. I hope many of you will come to the March to let our service personnel see your support for them. June will be our Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with community-led celebrations and in July we will have the Olympic Torch coming through Bicester. I hope all schools and communities will get involved and enjoy these once in a lifetime events.

I am looking forward to the next six months. I hope I can meet many more of you, and renew friendships with those I have already met.

I wish you all a healthy and peaceful New Year.
