Bicester men arrested after 18-year-old raped in Banbury

THREE Bicester men and a man from Brackley have been arrested on suspicion of rape following an incident in Banbury in the early hours of last Friday.

All four of the men are aged 20.

They were arrested in connection with the rape of an 18-year-old woman in a car park near George Street just after midnight on Friday, July 6. All four have been bailed until August 4.

Det Con Ian Gibbard, investigating the incident, said: “We have arrested four men as part of this investigation and enquiries are ongoing.

“Anyone who was in the area and saw any suspicious activity on Thursday night or the early hours of Friday morning is asked to contact police.

“Incidents of this nature are very rare in Banbury and a team of detectives are working to catch the people responsible.”
