YOUNG ballet dancers from Brackley are getting their first big break after auditions with the English Youth Ballet.

Last month pupils of the Starlight Dance Academy were among 85 young people hoping to secure a role in performances of Sleeping Beauty set to take place at the Waterside Theatre in Aylebsury in August.

10-year-olds Daisy Ward and Keeley Thompson were selected by the director during the two hour audition. Seniors Hannah Goodyear and Natasha Igoea also made the reserves list.

Starlight founder Charlotte Boardman, said the roles could be a stepping stone to a professional career for Daisy and Keeley and added: “Their presentation was excellent, always smiling which is something I try in install in my girls, it shows they are enjoying themselves.”
