A VOLUNTEER run service in Brackley which ferries people without transport to hospital and doctor appointments has received a Formula One boost.
Last month Nick Fry, CEO of the Mercedes GP Petronas F1 team donated a signed rear wing end plate for auction to the Brackley Area Volunteer Car Service (BAVCS), which is run by the South Northants Volunteer Bureau (snvb)
The end plate was used on cars driven by both Jenson Button and Rubens Barricello during the team’s championship winning year as Brawn GP.
On Saturday, January 15 auctioneer Coys sold the end plate after a bid of £500 at the Autosport International Car Show in Birmingham.
