A young motorcyclist has died following a road traffic accident on the A422 near Buckingham today, Thursday.

The road was closed to traffic yesterday afternoon, Thursday, between the Maids Moreton junction and the Deanshanger roundabout following a collision between a silver Honda motorbike and a white Ford Transit van on the Stratford Road, Foscote.

Police, fire and ambulance services all attended.

South Central Ambulance Service was called by a member of the public at 12.46pm.

Three ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and an air ambulance all attended the scene but sadly the motorcyclist, a 19-year-old man from Milton Keynes, died at the scene.

The van driver, from Northampton, was taken to hospital with a foot injury.

Anyone who witnessed the collision should call Milton Keynes Roads Policing on 101.

There have been 11 serious collisions involving motorcyclists this month in the Thames Valley Police and Hampshire Constabulary Joint Roads Policing Unit.

Police are urging car drivers to be extra conscious of motorbikes and cyclists on the road during this period when bright light can make visibility difficult.
