A new store selling retro clothes, one-off gifts and vintage furniture has opened in Crown Walk after a successful head start as a pop-up shop.

Heart and Soul, now based at 7 Crown Walk, opened in an empty unit in October as part of a pop-up scheme led by Sainsbury’s.

The business, which specialises in one-off handmade items, children’s clothes and ‘up-cycled’ furniture, is owned by cousins Tami Parker and Katie Weaver.

They celebrated their grand opening on Saturday with treats for customers, a raffle, and a visit from Toy Story cowgirl character Jessie.

Tami said: “It was a brilliant day, and we had lots of lovely comments from customers.”

She added: “The experience with the pop-up shop was invaluable. To set up a business and take on a lease is very scary, so to have the option of trying it out first is fabulous.”
