A NEW patisserie specialising in modern Continental-style cakes, desserts, and pastries has opened in Brackley.
Newell’s, which opened in High Street around a month ago, has been a long-held ambition for pastry chef Rod Newell and his wife Sandra.
Mr Newell, an award-winning chef with 30 years’ experience, said: “We’d looked at it for ages and ages, and we had a fairly clear idea of what we wanted to do.
“At large hotels we would end up having to compromise on what the customer gets.
“This is all about the quality of the product.”
Mr Newell said he had been encouraged by customers’ comments on the patisserie’s competitive prices and authentic French taste.
Among Newell’s specialities are ‘Just for You’ bags of truffles and florentines, tortes, and frozen desserts.
Savoury tortes, teas, tisanes, and a range of single-origin coffees can be enjoyed in the dining area.
