A snap of a Bicester bridal party played a starring role in a major photography industry awards last week.
The photograph of groom Patrick Harris, his best man, ushers and the father of the bride was singled out by the UK’s largest photography company, Venture Photography.
The shot was taken by photographer David Lloyd, 26, and was judged by some of the biggest names including royal photographer John Swannell, president of the British Institute of Professional Photography Roy Meiklejohn, and Venture’s creative director Richard Mayfield.
Mr Harris said: “Our photoshoot was brilliant, David tried out lots of different styles with us and one of the shots which stood out was this black and white one of the men from the bridal party.
“He made sure everyone was relaxed and totally at ease during our photoshoot, which took place the day after our wedding.
“We’re really pleased for David and glad that he is being recognised for his great work.”
The group’s photograph was one of thousands entered into the Generations and Groups category by more than 250 photographers.
Mr Lloyd, who has worked in the Reading area for more than four years, said: “This photograph really stood out for us so we had high hopes when we submitted it for the award, but it was still a surprise to hear I’d won at the ceremony this week.
“The whole bridal party was great to shoot and I managed to capture some great expressions from them.
“We get the best from our clients when they put as much effort into the experience as we do and this clearly came through in their winning photograph.”
