A STEEPLE Claydon schoolboy has written to his MP John Bercow, County Councillor John Cartwright and the Bishop of Buckingham Alan Wilson to protest about changes to the Arriva bus timetable.

Along with other children from the Claydons, Christopher Hobbs, aged 14, used to use the number 17 bus to get to Waddesdon C of E School.

But changes to the bus services mean that service has now been cancelled.

As of this week, Christopher has to catch a bus at 7.12am, which means leaving home at 7am.

His mum Liz said: “It was bad enough getting up at 6am. Now we have to get up at 5.45am to be ready in time. Then the evening bus he came back on yesterday doesn’t get in till nearly 5.15pm. It makes it a very long day. He’s exhausted.”

And she added: “Lots of people have chosen that school for faith reasons. We chose it because we knew we could get children to school on the bus. Now there’s going to be a blackspot in the Claydons.”
