A successful business selling cashmere products through catalogues and its website is set to open a warehouse retail outlet near Mursley this Friday, May 3.
The Cashmere Retail Shop at Fernfield Farm in Whaddon Road near Mursley is being opened by The Cashmere Centre, which has been based in the area since 1998.
Managing director Jeff Pert said: “Our customers like having a catalogue and telephoning us to place orders.
“Our website has been growing steadily over the past four to five years, and is now about 25 to 30 per cent of the business.
“We also held sales in Winslow and around the country. The main aim was to move overstock from previous seasons.
“It also gave people an opportunity to look, feel and try on. A natural extension to that is to have a shop. We were lucky a unit next door became vacant, and we were able to put a shop in there.
“Any old seasons’ products will be at half price. People can come in, see the clothes and have a chat.”
The official shop opening will be at 10am this Friday, and visitors are invited to try the shop’s entire spring and summer collection. Details of the cashmere specialists’ made-to-order service will also be available.
The outlet offers a selection of overstocks, samples, returns and previous seasons’ items at half price. Goods include sweaters, cardigans, capes, hats, gloves, scarves, hot water bottles, dressing robes, socks and blankets.
The shop is open from 10am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, and from 9am to 1pm on Saturday. Visit www.cashmerecentre.com or contact staff on 01908 522455 for details.
