Chamber calls for its members to enter national awards

NORTHANTS Chamber of Commerce is encouraging its members to enter the national Chamber Awards.

There is £50,000 worth of cash prizes up for grabs in the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) Chamber Awards 2011, aimed at recognising the most innovative and successful businesses across the UK.

Northants Chamber members who enter will first be put through an East Midlands regional heat. Regional winners then go through to the national finals where they could pick up a national award in their category as well as being in with a chance to collect the award for the most outstanding business achievement, and a £25,000 prize.

BCC president Neville Reyner said: “Hard-working small and medium-sized businesses are providing the backbone for our economic recovery. There are some remarkable and innovative companies in Britain, and the Chamber Awards recognise those firms striving to grow in the face of a tough business environment.”

Businesses can enter in the following categories: Business of the Year, Most Promising New Business, Entrepreneur of the Year, Achievement in International Business, Excellence in Customer Service, Excellence in People Development,The Sustainability Award, Finding New International Markets and Innovation through Technology.

The closing date for entries is Friday, June 24. Regional winners will be announced in September, followed by the national awards ceremony in November.
