COMPANIES looking for help in dealing with asbestos problems can get free training from a Towcester firm.
ClearView Safety, based at the Pury Hill Business Park, is offering free training sessions as part of a national initiative to improve awareness of asbestos issues.
Firms can register for two half-day courses on Tuesday, October 18. Backed by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and the United Kingdom Asbestos Training Association (UKATA), there will be a total of 30 places available on a first come, first served basis.
Jon Hughes, commercial manager of ClearView Safety, said: “This is a very worthwhile scheme by the HSE and UKATA to help improve knowledge of what has been dubbed the ‘silent killer’.”
The government hopes more than 4,000 hours of training and 1,000 courses will be offered around the UK.
Mr Hughes added: “It is not often that businesses are offered something for nothing but we believe these courses will offer people important information to improve safety when working in premises that may contain asbestos.”
