Bicester Foodbank has been shortlisted for the Lloyds Bank Community Fund 2013.

Local people are being encouraged to vote for Bicester Foodbank, which is in with a chance of winning a £3,000 grant from Lloyds Bank to help it continue doing good work in the community.

Bicester Foodbank is open two days a week at the Methodist Church, but the number of people using it has increased considerably this year.

An award of £3,000 will allow it to open five days a week.

It could also provide hot food to homeless people in Bicester and give basic cookery lessons to the younger generation.

Foodbank volunteers say the Lloyds Bank Community Fund will make a huge difference by allowing them to approach letting agencies in the town and get the new, larger premises they have been working towards.

The Lloyds Bank Community Fund is giving grants to more than 1,300 good causes in villages, towns and cities across England and Wales.
