NEW parking charges and charging hours will come into force in Bicester’s main car parks from next Monday, April 4.
Car parks including Market Square, Crown Walk, Claremont, Franklins Yard and Cattle Market will see charges go up by 10p an hour, and new charges will be brought in for blue badge holders.
Parking charges on Sundays and bank holidays will be brought into line with the rest of the week.
Cherwell District Council said work has now been carried out to make ticket machines more accessible for disabled people in Market Square, Franklins Yard and Claremont. Machines in Cattle Market already have ramped access.
Councillor Nigel Morris, said: “This is the first price increase for more than two years and only the second in seven years, barely keeping up with inflation.
“Given the massive Government cuts to public sector funding we have been forced into a position where we had to make our car parking pay its way.”
