The relaunch of Bicester Farmers’ Market in a new Saturday slot has been hailed as a great success.
The monthly farmers’ market had always been held on a Thursday, but organisers felt a weekend slot would make the market much more accessible.
Bicester Town Mayor, Councillor Melanie Magee, cut the ribbon at the relaunched market at 10am last Saturday. Sheep shears had been brought along especially for the task.
Organiser Mary Hallam said: “It was a beautiful sunny day and we were all struck by how pleased everyone was to see the market on a Saturday – it certainly seems to be a very welcome change and we hope that the market will carry on getting bigger and better over the coming months.”
The second Saturday of the month is now the market’s regular slot, running from 8.30am to 1pm. The next Bicester Farmers’ Market will be on August 10.
