A Towcester resident has been appointed chief financial officer for the Travelodge chain of budget hotels.

Accountant Jo Boydell will replace Jon Mortimore on the Travelodge board.

Ms Boydell is a former finance director of Mothercare and Snap Equity, the parent company of Jessops, and has held several senior financial roles at Ladbrokes, Hilton Group, and the EMI Group.

Grant Hearn, Travelodge chief executive, said: “Jo has a wealth of experience of working in a range of high-profile consumer brands and will play an integral part in helping us to grow our business and make Travelodge the best value hotel chain in the UK.”

Ms Boydell said: “It is a fantastic business, with a great customer following and I look forward to working closely with Grant and the management team, to deliver on the successful growth strategy over the coming years.”
