Winslow-area teen sets up ‘clinic’ for iPhones
14-year-old entrepreneur Jamie Coe. Set up iPhone repair business.
A young entrepreneur from the Winslow area is making a success of a business repairing iPhones and similar devices.
Jamie Coe, 14, who lives between Winslow and Whitchurch, said he was inspired to set up the business three years ago after a friend was quoted more than £100 to fix his phone screen.
Jamie said: “They wanted to charge hundreds of pounds, so I said I’d try to fix it.
“It worked, and I thought if they’re charging that much I could charge a tenth of the price.”
The Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School pupil, who has had an interest in electronics since the age of five, now has three years’ experience in fixing all manner of problems.
The service is aimed particularly at those whose mobile devices are out of warranty.
“Anybody who’s not Apple will void your warranty,” said Jamie.
“I primarily repair iPhones, but if I have other requests I can do pretty much anything,” he added.
He said he is now thinking of ways to expand the business to increase its profitability.
