‘You’re hired’, Bicester Village tells apprentices

Apprentices who will be taking part in retail masterclasses at Bicester Village

Apprentices who will be taking part in retail masterclasses at Bicester Village

NINE lucky young people will get masterclasses in retail as part of a new apprenticeship scheme run by Bicester Village in partnership with Oxford and Cherwell Valley College.

The retail apprenticeship scheme offers the young people a series of retail workshops designed in conjunction with Bicester Village. The sessions will feature special ‘masterclasses’ with industry professionals.

Miranda Markham, of Bicester Village, said: “We are very pleased to have gathered support from a number of the boutiques at Bicester Village to take on these nine new young apprentices and for their commitment in offering a one-year contract.”

Apprentices Amber Richardson, Ben Ogle, Jordan Thorpe, Josh Bedford, Laura Clarke, Lauren Potter, Mia Jakeman, Mitchell Roberts and Nathan Lawes will earn qualifications and get individually-tailored training programmes.

Oxford and Cherwell Valley College trainer Helen Headley said: “This is the third consecutive apprenticeship programme we have operated at Bicester Village and really shows what can happen when education and business work in partnership together to support young people in moving on to a higher training level within the industry.”
