Winslow Army cadets Cpl Alfie Bradbury, aged 16, and LCpl Michael Reed, aged 17, were among 269 cadets and 54 adults to experience life in the field at West Down Army training camp on Salisbury Plain in the summer holidays.

For two weeks, the cadets from all over Bucks took part in activities including training in field craft, adventure and first aid, navigation, shooting and canoeing.

The boys, who both attend the Buckingham School, are pictured learning weapons handling techniques.

Alfie said: “Annual camp is always great. We meet other cadets from all across Bucks and have a really good time.”

Michael said: “Being in the cadets has definitely been good for my confidence.”
