Landowners and householders are being asked to help alert nature experts the moment a tree disease enters the county.

Although it has not been detected in the county the Northants Local Nature Partnership thinks it is only a matter of time before the Chalara dieback of ash disease reaches the area and is calling for people to be vigilant .

Details of the symptons, which appear in May/June, and information on how to report instances of Chalara can be found at www.forestry.gov.uk/chalara.
