Then on Monday around 100 invited guests were entertained by Sponne students; guitarist Rob Griffin and saxaphonist Peter Diamond as Martin Johns was installed as mayor and David Linney as his deputy. Mr Johns congratulated Towcester’s out going mayor Jacqueline Hart after she raised £1,200 for the British Heart Foundation, the Scout Hut Preschool and the Cleft Lip and Palate Association. Mr Johns will be supporting the Cynthia Spencer hospice and the town’s youth groups.
