Chance for families to try out range of free fitness activities

Buckingham’s Swan Pool and Leisure Centre is hosting a free day of activities for all the family from 10am on Saturday, to welcome the centre’s new management team, Everyone Active.

Take on a gym challenge or try out one of the centre’s new group exercise classesincluding group cycling, Body Combat, BodyBalance and Body Conditioning.

In the pool, there will be free family swimming (for a family of two adults andup to three children) and taster sub-aqua classes.

On offer outdoors will be taster sessions on the pitches will be on offer, along with the chance to take part in a special high rope adventurecourse.

There will also be face painting, balloon modellers and stilt walkers.

The day will be officially opened by the chairman of Aylesbury Vale District Council (AVDC), Derrick Isham, at 10am.

To qualify for the free activity day, present your Everyone Active card at thefront desk or register for a card on the day.

Christine Coppack, contract manager for Everyone Active, Buckingham, said: “We want people to see the range of activities that will be on offer in the newly fitted-out gym, trial some of our new group exercise classes in the studio and generally come and enjoy some of the wonderful facilities that we have on offer.”

AVDC’s cabinet member for leisure, David Thompson, said: “Following the Olympic and Paralympic Games last year, it is very important that events are arranged to help encourage moreresidents to become active and take part in more sport and physical activity.”
