Grenville Combined School, in Buckingham is to change its name and uniform.

The changes were voted in by school governors on Tuesday, as part of the process of converting the school to an academy under the Bourton Meadow Education Trust (BMET), which runs Bourton Meadow Academy and will run the new primary school on Lace Hill/Windsor Park.

From next term, Grenville will be called The George Grenville Academy, a name voted for by parents and children. The new uniform includes a grey blazer embroidered with the new name and logo, an acorn and an oak leaf.

Parents were especially keen to retain the school’s distinctive purple, so jumpers of this colour will be worn.

A BMET spokesman said: “With the help of the trust, Grenville will remain a small school but have big opportunities and high achievements.”
