ST Edburg’s Church continued its drive to become a leading venue for arts and cultural events with an exhibition and craft fair last week.

Around 20 artists from the Bicester area exhibited their work inside the church from Monday to Saturday last week. A craft fair offering locally-produced items such as jewellery, silverwork and hand-made cards was also held on Saturday.

Exhibition organiser Colin Cockshaw said it was a magnificent setting for displaying the work of local artists.

He added: “We’re delighted we can stage this art exhibition and the craft fair at the church as it shows the potential of this building for a whole range of community events.”

The events are part of a £1 million fundraising bid to modernise facilities St Edburg’s Church while keeping historic features.
