A classic car insurer has donated just over £3,000 to charity in memory of two friends who have recently passed.
Hagery International presented a cheque for £1,395 to Willen Hospice on Sunday and will be donating money to Towcester Food Bank on Thursday.
The Towcester-based firm raised the money from classic car enthusiasts during its annual Drive It Day, a classic car rally through the Northants countryside.
The donation to Willen Hospice was in honour of a Hagerty friend and former colleague, Andrew Freestone, a passionate supporter of the charity. The donation to the food bank is in memory of Janet Cesar, a friend and colleague to the Hagerty team. Janet championed local community causes and had a particular affection for the food bank which provides emergency food supplies to those in need.
Angus Forsyth, Hagerty International’s managing director, said: “As a Northamptonshire-based company, we pride ourselves on giving back to the community, particularly those local organisations that rely on donations to maintain their great work.
“Because of the proud affiliation that Janet and Andrew developed with the charities, it gives us enormous gratitude to make the donations to The Willen Hospice and the Towcester Food Bank.”
