Brackley Women’s Institute proved a hit once again at the Brackley Community Carnival, selling teas and coffees and donated homemade cakes.
The popular event took place on Saturday, June 18 and attracted around 5,000 people.
A group of ladies volunteered to give the cricket pavilion a good clean inside and wiped tables and chairs before setting out the larger tables, on the Friday evening. The windows also needed a good wipe too. Tables were collected from the WI hall by a WI husband.
The weather was good for a while, but when the heavens opened, and they did quite a few times, the WI ladies were ready for the onslaught.
The cakes and tea are always popular, and the WI is glad to be part of such a worthy function.
Other entertainment on the day included daredevil motorbike group Moto Stunt, music from Brackley Jazz Orchestra and the junior brass band, and baton twirling from Delapre Majorettes.
