Peter Sutherst, the voice of Bedfordshire Scouts for more than 45 years, is retiring as the county media manager to lead a somewhat quieter life helping his wife Cynth with the county archive.

She has just retired as music teacher at Putteridge Primary School, Luton, after 43 years so this will give them a chance to enjoy occasional trips to places they have never been to.

Peter intends to devote his spare time writing about the development of Scouting in the county.
